My own organisation and role:

The SEKEM initiative was founded to realise the vision of sustainable human development. SEKEM aims to contribute to the comprehensive development of the individual, society and environment. A holistic concept encompassing integrated economic, social and cultural development forms the key SEKEM vision.

SEKEM received the RIGHT LIVELIHOOD AWARD also known as the “ALTERNATIVE NOBEL PRIZE” for “establishing a business model for the 21st century in which commercial success is integrated with and promotes the social and cultural development of society through economics of love.”

My own interests in RCEs:

Social Development
o Raising public awareness on ESD
o Combating social inequalities through education
o Stressing the importance of regional knowledge, traditions and culture for SD
o Improving the situation of underprivileged groups like street children or handicapped through ESD

Formal & Non-formal Education
o Integrating elements of SD in the traditional and existing forms of formal education
o Emphasizing the role of adult education/ training within ESD
o Planning trainings or setting up specific courses on ESD

Research & Innovation
o Stressing the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship
o Fostering innovation through the integration of already existing skills, know how and research efforts

Environment, Health & Agriculture
o Promoting biodynamic agriculture
o Raising awareness and foster action against environmental threats
o Promoting sustainable ways of improving health and disease prevention
